McEachin Statement on Death at The Belt Atlantic in South Richmond

Today, Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) issued the following statement after a man was shot to death at The Belt Atlantic, a public housing complex in South Richmond:

"I am sorry to learn of another life lost at The Belt Atlantic in South Richmond. For too long, Virginians have had to grapple with the debilitating impacts of gun violence. Just a mere few months ago, a young child was killed in this same complex. Enough is enough.

"This tragic loss of life is yet another sobering reminder of the pressing need to pass commonsense gun reform legislation. No one should have to live in fear and under the ongoing threat of violence.

"My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the victim's family, loved ones, and community members. I will continue advocating for smart policies to help reform gun legislation. The gun violence epidemic ravaging our nation must be put to an end."
